Early Elementary Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospital Program

The Early Childhood Institute of The Providence Center has expanded our array of Children’s services to include an Early Elementary Intensive Outpatient Program and Partial Hospital Program. These programs will serve children from Kindergarten through the second grade. The program, which will support children’s social/emotional needs in a therapeutic classroom, can be funded by a child’s health insurance (when possible) or their local school district. This will be a short-term treatment opportunity that will allow our team of educators and clinicians to learn about the meaning behind a child’s behavior, provide referrals for additional services and evaluations, and set families up with wrap-around services for ongoing support.

Services include:

  • Therapeutic classrooms staffed by early childhood specialist
  • A developmentally appropriate curriculum that builds social, emotional, cognitive, language, and motor skills
  • Structured play group activities
  • Weekly bilingual parent groups
  • Individual, family, and group therapy
  • Home and community-based services
  • Observation and consultation in daycares, and school settings
  • Educational, and Clinical Assessments
  • Psychiatric Evaluations
  • Conscious Discipline specialist
  • Professional Pet Assisted Therapy credential team
Outpatient and Intensive Home-based Services
The skilled early childhood clinicians have a foundation in The Incredible Years and Conscious Discipline. They can provide outpatient and home-based services to children and their families. The clinicians also consult with daycares, Head Start, and preschools to support the child’s placement.
Therapeutic Treatment Program

During the day, early childhood specialists assist preschoolers, ages 3 to 5 years of age, in developing critical emotional, social and behavioral skills in a specially designed therapeutic treatment program that, to your child, looks just like preschool. Activities and learning centers are designed to give children the opportunity to practice social skills, develop language, motor skills and explore their creativity. Parents also participate in this treatment program experience by taking part in a weekly parent component that provides families with appropriate techniques for managing their child’s behaviors and impulses, helping them to learn and grow. Services include:

  • Developmental and psychiatric evaluations
  • Structured play group activities
  • Individualized cognitive, language, motor skills, and social-emotional curriculum
  • Parent/Family training
  • Individual, group, and family therapy
  • Access to The Providence Center’s services
